Most Popular Wax Melt Scents

Over the last few years, but especially the last 3 years, wax melts and home fragrance products have seen a huge increase in popularity.

A lot of this was caused by the pandemic forcing people to work from home or isolate for long periods. The beauty for home fragrance companies is that this way of life has been well received by many people and businesses, creating a huge demand for products to make their home smell amazing.

Working from home has now become mainstream and is being enjoyed by many people with a return to the office on a full time basis, a thing of the past!

The wonderful thing about scents and aromas is that they evoke emotions and memories.

  • Does the smell of cookies make you remember lovely time spent cooking with your gran or favourite aunt?
  • Does the smell of coconut take you straight back to the beach of your favourite holiday?
  • Maybe the smell of Candy Cane makes you think instantly of Christmas.
  • Does your husband or partner wear a certain aftershave or perfume? Maybe you have a special scent which makes you feel a million dollars whenever you wear it?

See what I mean? I challenge you to not have been whisked away to a memory reading those examples!

So, which are the most popular wax melt scents?

Obviously that is down to personal preference.

From our own experience, as a wax melt supplier, we keep tabs on all of our fragrances to see which are popular and which are not. Those that do well, we keep on our range and sometimes we get fragrances which we thought would be well received but fail abysmally!

Every month we put out what our most popular wax melt scents are (here is the latest one):

We have also found that certain celebrations in the calendar year also show up some very popular scents.

For example Halloween is very big in the wax melt world it seems with Pumpkin Spice and Pumpkin Pie being extremely popular. Toasted Marshmallows and Toffee Apple - other seasonal fragrances - are also big sellers. You can see our Halloween range here.

And then there is Christmas, the busiest time of the year for wax melt sellers. We launch around 20 Christmassy scents each year and many of them prove to be very popular.

Warm Gingerbread and Apple & Spiced Cinnamon (which smells like McDonalds Apple Pie!) are always big sellers along with Candy Cane.

But once these festivities are over, many of the popular Christmas scents stop selling as you can imagine.

There are certain of our scents which remain popular the whole year through. Snow Angel and Lady Millionaire are ever constant and seem to be very popular for many other wax melt companies as well.

You can only begin to imagine what our home smells like with so many to choose from and on tap as well!

Here are just some of our own personal favourites:

  • Cotton Fresh
  • Frosted Plum
  • La Vee A Bell
  • Lemon & Lavender
  • Lemon Meringue Pie
  • Mandarin Orange
  • Pink Flamingo
  • Rhubarb & Custard
  • Strawberries & Cream
  • Very Berry
  • Warm Gingerbread
  • White Dove

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference and I am sure if you asked several wax melt and home fragrance suppliers, they would have different best sellers.

What is your favourite? Let us know.
