Amongst all the various types of fragrances, wax melts that smell like perfume or aftershave seem to extremely popular.
Since we started out on our home fragrance journey back in June 2021, we have found that one of the most desired types of scents have been perfume inspired ones.
In fact, as I write this post, our Top 20 bestsellers list contains no less than 4 perfume inspired fragrances.
- Dark Opium
- Lady Millionaire
- English Pear & Freesia
- La Vee A Bell

So, what do these lovelies smell of?
- Lady Millionaire - A multifaceted white floral with top notes of orange, neroli and apple with a floral heart of jasmine, violet and peony supported by a fond of amber, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and musk.
- English Pear & Freesia - A vibrant blend of fresh fruits and delicate florals, this fragrance opens with the luscious sweetness of juicy pear. Soft notes of freesia and rose bloom at the heart, while a warm, elegant base of patchouli, amber, and sheer musk adds depth and sophistication.
- Dark Opium - A warm Oriental spicy fragrance with top notes of pink pepper, orange blossom and pear leading to a heart of orchid and coffee and a sumptuous base of amber, patchouli, vanilla and cedar.
- La Vee A Bell - An Oriental fragrance that starts with top notes of bergamot, grapefruit and cassis. It is followed by floral notes of orris, jasmine, orange blossom and lily and rests on a background with vanilla, tonka bean, praline, patchouli, cedarwood, musk and ambergris.
I guess this shows that people love their homes to smell of their favourite perfume. It also shows just how massive the perfume industry is.
Aside from the 4 above, we also have another 13 perfume scents:
- Out of This World
- Wild Savage (an aftershave inspired scent)
- Madamme
- Angelic Touch
- Mr Samuel
- Blue Agave & Cacao
- Dark Pomegranate
- Celestial Whisper
- Seychelles
- Floral Explosion
- Olympia
- Roulette
- Sweet Rhapsody
Because perfume scents are so popular, we are now looking to introduce more of them into our portfolio of products.
So, what are wax melts anyway?
For many years, candles and wax melts were made from parrafin wax. This type of wax gives off toxins and smoke which not only are bad for the environment and your health but also make your walls and ceilings discoloured!
Then along came soy wax.
Soy wax is a natural product that is not only vegan friendly but it burns cleanly with no toxins. Paraffin wax has carcinogens in it which can lead to cancer. It also is good for the environment as it comes from a sustainable source.
Soy wax burns for longer so you get way more for your money and it also gives a better scent throw when cold and hot.
Wax melts are different to candles although they have the same effect - giving you a wonderful home fragrance.
Wax melts come in many different shapes and sizes and are used in a wax burner. You light a tealight in the wax burner which melts the wax melt that you have put in the burner. This then gives off the gorgeous aromas.
The most popular wax melt has become the snap bar. This is shaped like a bar of chocolate and has either 5 rectangular pieces or 10 squares, depending on the wax melt seller.
You then have all sorts of other shapes including honeycombs, paw prints, hearts and many more besides.
We are currently looking at getting a custom wax melt mould so that we can create a product completely unique to us.
