Well, The Sun newspaper published an article in February this year (2022) calling them the next big thing (a bit late for that statement methinks!) and a great replacement for candles.
As handmade wax melt makers ourselves, we would definitely agree with that, although we will be looking to add candles into our range at some point in the future.
One of the beauties of wax melts is that every company out there makes them unique to them. Different colours, different scents, different shapes, they all add to the amazing wax melt experience.
Wax Melts make a lovely gift and the fragrances can evoke wonderful memories and also are becoming seen as a really great accompaniment to wellness packages online. With a huge upturn in stress and anxiety, fragrances can be used to help bring people back into a lovely place.
Wax melts also have some benefits over candles. The snap bars can last longer than scented candles and many are also made from soy wax which is far better for the environment than many candles which are made from paraffin wax. Be careful of Scentsy and Yankee candle wax melts as both of these are normally made using paraffin wax. They are also mass produced, whereas, vendors of soy wax melts are, in the main, small family run businesses. They all started in the kitchen and some have gone on to be million pound businesses with industrial units and staff. Very inspiring stuff for people looking to make a living doing something they love to do.
Another benefit is that you can try out fragrances for very little money to see which ones you like.
So, what are wax melts?
Wax melts are essentially wickless candles. You place a piece of the wax melt into a wax burner, light a tealight underneath and wait for the wonderful aroma to fill your room. Our snap bars are made with 10% fragrance oil which gives a long lasting scent throw and each of the 5 pieces can last for over 10 hours.

So, how do you make wax melts?
Many people think that making wax melts is easy. Far from it! It takes months of testing and a lot of money to get all the supplies you need to make a proper business out of wax melts. You need to be insured, provide legal labelling and a ton of time to get the best smelling wax melts fragrance.
We started making them back in February 2021, but didn't start selling them on Etsy and our website until May 2021. It then took until September 2021 before we started to make money from them.
Now in March 2022, we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and we are adding new fragrances and also new products to our growing range. Next up, room sprays and reed diffusers!

Wax melts are now so mainstream, that you can find them in supermarkets, places like The Range and B & M as well as online marketplaces such as Amazon, Etsy and Ebay.
